Privyet Moskva!!

I recently purchased the Site Analytics tool from my hosting company. It’s a cool product, delivers tons of reports, graphs and etc.

I’m regularly checking the top visitors report. It feels like a nice game between countries and cities, and the result is quite interesting. Moscow is smashing in the competition!!

Do I have a secret society regularly stalking my web page in Moscow?

California is also quite high, but the main reason is the San Jose IP addresses that my colleagues and I get in the office.

And unfortunately, Istanbul (and also the rest of Turkey) is way behind in competition.

Consolidation

Having spent the last year of my work life focusing on three magic words: Consolidation, Virtualization and Automation, i asked to myself – why I don’t apply this to my life as well? :p

So I started with Consolidation.

There’s a nice trick of WordPress. You can add a new post, and change the date of it to a previous date. For example, I can add this blog entry, and set it as if it’s been posted in 1965! That’s good isn’t it? Then I decided to consolidate all my old blogs on emregirici.com by copy pasting every former blog post with its original date.

All the posts from 2009 and backwards are from my blogspot and msn space pages, and are in Turkish. So if there’s something interesting for you, and you don’t understand, just use Google Translate or ask me 🙂

Hevesi Gelmeyen Adam

Asağıdaki yazıyı göndereli 2.5 sene olmus neredeyse. Yazı yazmanın aklıma geldiği yerde, yani yurtdışında bir hevesle yazmıştım diye hatırlıyorum. Antwerp’te Arass Hotel’in köri sosu kokulu odalarından birindeydim hatta.

Şimdi yine yurtdışında, yine aynı heves tuttu yakaladı. Ama bu sefer iyi direndim. Çeşitli bahaneler ve goygoylar sonucu 1-2 yıl erteledim blog tutmayı. En son bahanem, “şimdi bir blog yazacaksam o blogun güzel bir banner’i olması lazım” şeklindeydi. Bu bahaneyi de bu gece itibariyle dandik bir fotoşop emeğiyle çözmüş bulunuyorum.

Artık pek bir bahanem kalmadı, adam gibi oturup iki satır bişi yazmayı alışkanlık haline getirsem iyi olacak. Şu fani dünyada iki satır blogun, bir dikili ağacın kalması tasvip edilen bir durumdur efenim.

Bu gece erken yatarım uykumu alırım diyodum, saati yine 2 etmek üzereyim. Neyse, şimdi yatayım yarın erkenden kalkar aklıma gelen muzip, ilginç anektodları siz okuyucularlan paylaşmaya başlarım.

Geri Geldim

almanya’daki zamanlardan beridir şu sahifeye bişey yazmıyodum. sadece arada bir istatistiklere bakıp kaç kişi blog sayfasını ziyaret etmiş diye sinsi sinsi kolaçan ediyodum ortalığı. ayda bir gelip etrafı silip süpürüyordum, içerde şöyle bir gezinip çıkıyordum. son bir sene zarfında onca yaşadığım olay arasında hiç bir tanesi elimi şu blog sayfasında yeni bi yazı yazmaya itmedi. resim de çekmedim. garip… şimdi yine bi iş için yurtdışındayım, sanırım etrafımda bişileri anlatıcak birileri olmayacak kadar uzakta olduğumda elim klavyeye gidiyo. ve sanırım fotoğraf çekmek de sadece böyle yerlerde aklıma geliyo. ya da normal hayatımı sürdüğüm yerde çektiğim resimlerimi sevemiyorum.
